Now, as a registered investment advisor with an insurance license, she’s proud to provide holistic financial planning services to her clients who need that help. She also believes in putting clients first, a value she has seen exemplified by her own mother.
“Having a mom as a financial advisor, I feel that I was given a big step up by getting financial advice earlier than most,” Megan says. “She explained it in a way that made so much sense, and she always made sure my questions were answered. Now, I want to help her pass her legacy on by helping young people set themselves up for success with access to a trustworthy source of information and client-driven financial planning services.”
Megan believes the educational factor plays a major role in her ability to do her job to the best of her ability. As a holistic financial planner, she works to get to know her client and their families on more than a financial level. Because money is personal, so is her relationship, making it easier for them to pick up the phone and dial her number when they have questions regarding their own financial health.
She is also passionate about setting attainable goals and constructing a plan that defines a clear path toward them. “From the very first meeting, which we call the Discovery phase, we try to establish measurable goals and a plan that our client understands just as well as we do. Then, we check in on an annual basis, or when needed by the client, to ensure that they’re still on track to achieve those goals should their circumstances change.”
Born and raised in Central Wisconsin, this area is near and dear to Megan’s heart. She has lived here for her entire life, save for the few years she attended Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. She graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in marketing. Her close-knit relationship with her family brought her back to Wausau, and her real-world experiences drove her into financial services, an industry that gives her a sense of purpose and freedom.
She has now been married to her husband David for a decade, and they have three sons, two being a set of twins. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crafting and spending time with her family. She’s also very active in her children’s parent-teacher organization, giving her the opportunity to be part of their educational process and help where she can. “Family is everything to me, and it’s the reason I love my job. My mom is the reason I entered financial services, and now I want to help people protect their families.”
